From an elevated view, the towering idol casts its shadow across the plain, emphasizing the contrast between public pressure and covenant faithfulness. The three Hebrews remain distinct in the open space near the statue, refusing to worship the image commanded by King Nebuchadnezzar.

The scene draws from Daniel 3, where the king’s officials, musicians, and peoples of the empire were ordered to bow when the music sounded. The three young exiles answered that God was able to deliver them, yet even if He did not, they would not serve the king’s gods. This artwork highlights steadfast obedience, idolatry confronted, and faithful witness under persecution, making it suited for teaching on courage, worship, youth ministry, exile, and trust in God.
