Description
Nebuchadnezzar’s dream statue stands above the clouds, its head of gold, chest and arms of silver, middle of bronze, legs of iron, and feet suggesting the divided strength of iron and clay. A stone rushes toward the image, recalling Daniel’s interpretation of the Babylonian king’s vision: human kingdoms rise in splendor and power, yet none endure before the kingdom established by God. The floating, monumental figure emphasizes the imperial pride and fragile succession described in Daniel 2, while the approaching stone points to the divine kingdom “not made with hands” that breaks earthly dominion and fills the whole earth. This artwork is suited for teaching prophecy, Old Testament studies, sermons on sovereignty, and visual lessons on the contrast between temporal empires and God’s everlasting reign.
